headspace Grafton is at the centre of the festivities for Work and Study month! This year the centre has been decorated, including a Work and Study (WaS) themed photo booth in the waiting area, where young people can have their photo printed to take home. We have also hired a popular new flexible staff member in the IPS team ‘WaS Wally’ (as seen as the main blog image). headspace also launched a quiz testing young people’s knowledge on their rights and responsibilities at work, with double chances for the prize if they also follow headspace Grafton us on social media!
headspace Grafton also facilitated a presentation from Centrelink during an all-staff meeting. In this session Angela and her colleague shared information on eligibility for youth payments, including youth allowance, jobseeker, ABSTUDY, Austudy, Student Start-up Loans and Tertiary Access Payment. Angela sits at headspace Grafton once a month, supporting our young people with any Centrelink requests, therefore this tied in well with how our program collaborates with Centrelink services.Â

The headspace Grafton WaS team will be attending the upcoming TAFE event ‘Your Future Fest’, a free career exploration event, targeting year 10 students. A WaS themed stall will include all information on accessing headspace Grafton services, with the opportunity for students to participate in the photo booth with career themed props.
