Mental Health Awareness Workshop at PCYC September 2026

Exploring Mental Health in Creative and Meaningful Ways

Time to read:

1–2 minutes

On 22 September, the team at headspace Coffs Harbour had the pleasure of facilitating a mental health awareness workshop with participants from the Fit2Work Program at PCYC Coffs Harbour.

Using a combination of music, breathwork, and movement, the workshop provided an engaging and supportive environment for young people to explore their mental wellbeing, build self-awareness, and learn practical strategies for looking after their mental health.

It was a privilege to connect with the boys, hear about their experiences, and share meaningful conversations around wellbeing, resilience, and future aspirations. The session encouraged participants to reflect on their strengths, discuss the challenges they may face, and consider positive pathways for achieving their personal and professional goals.

At headspace Coffs Harbour, we know that creating opportunities for young people to connect, express themselves, and develop healthy coping strategies can have a lasting impact on their wellbeing. The enthusiasm and openness shown throughout the workshop highlighted the importance of these conversations and the value of providing safe spaces where young people feel heard and supported.

A special thank you to PCYC Coffs Harbour for inviting us to be part of this valuable program and for their ongoing commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of young people in our community.

We look forward to continuing to work together to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive now and into the future.
