Homelessness Matters Day August 2026

headspace Coffs Connecting Community on Homelessness Matters Day

Time to read:

1โ€“2 minutes

Homelessness Matters Day at Brelsford Park was a productive and meaningful event, bringing together local organisations committed to supporting those experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in our community.

headspace Coffs Harbour attended with a stall on the 6th of August 2026.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to connect with community members, have meaningful conversations, and raise awareness about the realities of homelessness. It was fantastic to have a yarn with local people, listen to their experiences, and discuss the range of support services available across our region.

Collaboration was at the heart of the event, with local organisations working together to create a welcoming space where people could access information, build connections, and learn more about the resources available to them.

For many young people, homelessness and housing insecurity can have a significant impact on their mental health, sense of belonging, and ability to thrive. Events like Homelessness Matters Day play an important role in fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and ensuring that individuals and families know where to turn for support when they need it most.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and to the organisations that worked together to make the day such a success. By continuing to work collaboratively and strengthen community connections, we can help create positive change and support those experiencing homelessness in our region.
