During NAIDOC week on Friday 10th July, Health Voyage Partnerships and Cultural Engagement Officer Janene had the pleasure of holding a stall at the Mums & Bubs Community Event, hosted by JB Aboriginal Corporation. Held in a beautiful location with great weather, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for local families to come together, connect with services, and enjoy a fun-filled day.
The event was exceptionally well organised by the JB Aboriginal Corporation team, creating a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere for everyone who attended. Guests were treated to a delicious BBQ and bush tucker, which proved to be a highlight of the day.
A range of local organisations were present, including Uniting, ETC Employment, Carers NSW, offering information, support, and opportunities to engage with community services.
One of the most popular attractions was a mobile sweets trolley, which catered to all ages. Children enjoyed a variety of lollies, while adults were treated to a selection of cabana, cheese, pickles, and biscuits. The trolley was a huge hit and attracted plenty of visitors throughout the day.
At Janene’s stall, the headspace prize wheel generated significant interest, particularly among younger attendees, who eagerly lined up to have a spin. The headspace and Women’s Health Centre t-shirts were also very popular, along with the Women’s Health Centre notebooks, which were quickly snapped up by visitors.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, local artists entertained attendees with live performances throughout the day. Their talent and energy helped create a lively and enjoyable environment that celebrated community spirit and connection.
Overall, the Mums & Bubs Event was a fantastic day, bringing together families, service providers, and community members in a positive and inclusive setting. It was wonderful to see so many people engaging with local services, enjoying the entertainment, and making the most of the opportunities available.
Thank you to JB Aboriginal Corporation and all participating organisations for helping make the event such a successful and memorable occasion.
