Collaboration and community were at the heart of the recent Bellingen Shire Interagency Meeting, which brought together local organisations, community groups, and service providers from Bellingen, Dorrigo, and the Nambucca Valley on the 12th of August.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for participants to strengthen partnerships, share service updates, and discuss emerging community needs across the region. Representatives from a diverse range of sectors, including youth services, mental health, healthcare, education, housing, and community support, came together with a shared goal of improving outcomes for local communities. Janene from Health Voyage and Rex from headspace Coffs Harbour attended the day.
A key focus of the gathering was identifying collaborative approaches to address local challenges and enhance the support available to individuals and families. Participants explored ways to strengthen referral pathways, share resources more effectively, and develop joint initiatives that respond to the needs of the region.
The meeting highlighted the significant impact that strong partnerships can have on building healthier, more connected communities. Through open communication and shared knowledge, organisations were able to identify opportunities to work together more effectively and maximise the support available to residents.
As communities continue to face evolving social and economic challenges, interagency collaboration remains an essential tool for creating positive change. The ongoing commitment of local organisations to work collectively is helping to build more inclusive, resilient, and supportive communities throughout Bellingen, Dorrigo, and the Nambucca Valley.
By fostering stronger networks and encouraging a spirit of cooperation, the Bellingen Shire Interagency Meeting demonstrated the power of collaboration in creating lasting benefits for individuals, families, and communities across the region.
Looking Ahead
The connections strengthened through meetings such as this will continue to play an important role in ensuring community members can access the services and support they need. Together, local organisations are building a stronger future through partnership, shared purpose, and collective impact.
