On 3 October, headspace Coffs Harbour was proud to attend the Multicultural Cup on the Coffs Coast, a fantastic event delivered by STARTTS as part of the All One Under the Sun initiative.
The day was a wonderful celebration of diversity, bringing together people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds through a shared love of soccer. It was inspiring to see the incredible talent within our culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities on display, highlighting the important role sport can play in fostering inclusion and belonging.
Events like the Multicultural Cup provide much more than an opportunity for friendly competition. Soccer has the power to bring people together, build meaningful friendships, strengthen community connections, and create a sense of unity across cultures. These connections are vital in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, helping individuals feel supported, valued and engaged within their communities.
headspace Coffs Harbour was delighted to be part of this vibrant event and witness firsthand the positive impact that sport can have in connecting people from diverse backgrounds. The atmosphere throughout the day was one of respect, encouragement and celebration, reflecting the strength and richness of our multicultural community.
A big thank you to STARTTS for bringing this meaningful initiative to the Coffs Coast and creating opportunities for communities to come together, connect, and celebrate under the shared spirit of sport.
