Young People at the Heart of Health: Health Voyage Celebrates NSW Youth Week
Health Voyage has always believed that the best health care starts with listening.
When a group of determined women in Coffs Harbour came together in the mid-1980s to research what their community actually needed, they weren’t waiting to be told what mattered – they were asking. That grassroots spirit led to the opening of the Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre in 1986, and it remains the heartbeat of who we are today.
Nearly four decades on, Health Voyage (previously GenHealth) has grown to encompass youth health and wellbeing – and the same founding principle holds: the people we serve deserve to shape the services designed for them.
This NSW Youth Week, we’re celebrating that belief.

Youth voices shape what we do
Youth Week, coordinated by local councils across New South Wales, is a time to celebrate the energy, creativity and resilience of young people. For Health Voyage, it’s a reminder that genuine, compassionate health care is never one-size-fits-all – it evolves with the people it supports.
We want to hear from young people across our region. What matters to you? What does accessible health care look like in your life? Your voice genuinely influences how we grow and what we deliver.
