On 1 April, Janene (Partnerships and Cultura Engagement Officer, Health Voyage) and Alexa (Community Engagement, headspace Coffs Harbour) had the pleasure of attending the Care & Community Information Event in Nambucca Heads, an initiative that continues to grow in both strength and community interest.

This was the fourth event held since 2025, and it was encouraging to see momentum building with each gathering. Notably, this event saw the highest level of community attendance to date, highlighting the increasing demand for accessible information and local support services.

The event brought together a diverse range of service providers and community organisations, each offering valuable resources and advice. Stall holders included Services Australia, Key Employment, Uniting, Galambila, and Lifeline, and of course Health Voyage and headspace Coffs Harbour, giving attendees the opportunity to connect directly with organisations that play a vital role in community wellbeing.

Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, Lifeline’s GambleAware program provided a BBQ and live music, creating an inviting space for conversation and connection. These simple yet thoughtful additions helped foster a relaxed environment where people felt comfortable stopping by, asking questions, and engaging with services.

It was also great to see police from the Kempsey Area Command in attendance, including their Aboriginal Liaison Officer. Their presence reinforced the importance of strong relationships between community members and local services, and highlighted a collaborative approach to community safety and engagement.

Additionally, nurses from the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) were on hand, providing health information and support, further strengthening the range of services available on the day.

Overall, the event was a positive reflection of a community coming together — service providers, local organisations, and residents — all working toward better awareness, access, and connection. We look forward to seeing this event continue to grow and support the needs of the Nambucca Heads community in the future.
