Empowering young people to explore careers and prioritise wellbeing

This year’s Your Future Fest brought energy, curiosity, and opportunity together in one vibrant space, as 340 Year 9 and 10 students gathered to explore their future pathways. The annual Career Expo, organised by the Department of Education in partnership with the Country University Centre, continues to play an important role in connecting young people with education, training, and support services.

The event offered students a chance to step beyond the classroom and engage directly with a wide range of career options, helping them start thinking about what their future could look like. From industry insights to study pathways, it was an inspiring day of discovery and possibility.

Supporting Mental Health Conversations

Headspace Grafton was proud to be part of this important event, focusing not only on future careers but also on the wellbeing of young people. Our team created a welcoming and engaging space through a fun photo booth and an exciting mental health raffle, encouraging students to stop by, connect, and have meaningful conversations.

We were thrilled to engage with approximately 100 young people, many of whom asked thoughtful questions about mental health, wellbeing, and how to access support services. These interactions highlight the growing awareness and openness among young people to talk about mental health—an encouraging and important step forward.

Building Confidence and Connection

Events like Your Future Fest remind us that preparing for the future is about more than just career planning. It’s also about building confidence, fostering resilience, and ensuring young people know where to turn for support when they need it.

By combining career exploration with mental health awareness, the day provided a holistic approach to supporting young people as they navigate important life decisions.

Looking Ahead

We extend a big thank you to the Department of Education and the Country University Centre for organising such a valuable event, and to all the students who participated with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Headspace Grafton looks forward to continuing these important conversations and supporting young people on their journey—both in their future careers and their mental wellbeing.
