The headspace Grafton Youth Reference Group (YRG) came together on 1 October 2026 for a productive and engaging meeting, with members contributing valuable ideas and feedback on a range of important topics affecting young people in the community.
The meeting featured a packed agenda, reflecting the group’s ongoing commitment to improving services and outcomes for young people. Discussions focused on centre improvement priorities, exploring ways to enhance the experience of young people accessing support, as well as identifying and addressing barriers to appropriate care for young people aged 12–15 years.
Members also shared ideas for upcoming headspace Day activities, discussed opportunities to strengthen peer support initiatives, and considered future training and development opportunities that will help empower young people to have a meaningful voice in shaping services.
The Youth Reference Group continues to play a vital role in ensuring that young people’s perspectives are at the heart of decision-making at headspace Grafton. Their insights, lived experiences and passion for making a difference help guide service improvements and create a stronger, more youth-friendly centre.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, enthusiasm and ongoing support shown by YRG members. The group was also excited to welcome two new members, Tennyson and Janaia, whose fresh perspectives and ideas will further strengthen youth participation and representation within the centre.
