Celebrating Community Connections at headspace Grafton

Each year, headspace Grafton hosts a special event to recognise and thank the partner organisations, consortium members, community stakeholders and individuals who support our service and the young people in our community throughout the year.

While many appreciation events are traditionally held during the Christmas period, we chose to celebrate in July to ensure as many people as possible could attend and enjoy the opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate together.

This year’s event brought together a diverse group of valued supporters, including members of the Big Uncles Club, employment providers, representatives from Grafton High School and South Grafton High School, Health Voyage Board members and staff, consortium members, and local young people. Their ongoing commitment and collaboration play a vital role in helping us create positive outcomes for young people across our region.

The celebration commenced with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Uncle Ken, followed by a captivating didgeridoo performance by Lennox Monaghan. These powerful cultural contributions set the tone for an afternoon focused on connection, respect and community.

We were also delighted to have a young person from our Cooking Club attend and be part of the celebration, showcasing the importance of youth participation and the impact of the programs delivered through headspace Grafton.

The lunch provided a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the many partnerships that contribute to the success of our service, celebrate the achievements of the past year, and strengthen relationships for the future. Events like these remind us that supporting young people is a collective effort, and we are grateful to work alongside so many dedicated organisations, community leaders and individuals.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your support, collaboration and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and help strengthen our community.

headspace Grafton is delivered locally by Health Voyage and is part of the national headspace network. headspace Grafton is funded by Healthy North Coast through the North Coast PHN Program.
