Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Bellingen High School

Time to read:

1โ€“2 minutes

Bellingen High School proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week by recognising and honouring the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, students and staff participated in a range of activities designed to promote learning, respect, and connection. These experiences encouraged our school community to deepen their understanding of First Nations cultures and reflect on the important contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have made, and continue to make, across Australia.

A key focus of the celebrations was acknowledging and honouring Elders past and present. Their wisdom, knowledge, and leadership play a vital role in preserving culture, guiding communities, and sharing stories that have been passed down through generations.

NAIDOC Week also provided an opportunity to celebrate the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. Their strength, pride, and commitment to culture will ensure traditions, knowledge, and community connections continue to grow and thrive into the future.

Bellingen High School is proud to support opportunities for students and staff to learn from and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Through events such as NAIDOC Week, we continue to build understanding, respect, and meaningful connections within our school community.

We thank everyone who participated in making our NAIDOC Week celebrations a valuable and memorable experience.
