We are proud to announce that Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre has been selected as a recipient of funding through the Cancer Institute NSW Cervical Screening Community Engagement Grants Program.

This funding will enable us to develop and deliver tailored initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of cervical screening and improving access for priority communities across our region. Through this project, we will work closely with community members and stakeholders to create opportunities for education, engagement and open conversation about cervical health.

A key focus of the project will be addressing barriers that can make cervical screening more difficult to access. By providing culturally safe and inclusive environments, sharing accurate health information, and encouraging community participation, we hope to empower more people to take part in this important preventive health check.

Regular cervical screening plays a vital role in preventing cervical cancer by identifying changes in cervical cells before they become cancerous. Through this funding, we will be able to better support women and people with a cervix in our community, helping to make cervical screening more accessible, informed and empowering.

We are honoured to be part of this important initiative and look forward to sharing updates as the project develops. Together, we can help improve health outcomes and support healthier communities for all.
